What would industry leaders wish on Bitcoin for the twelfth anniversary of its white paper?
admin, · Kategorien: BitcoinWhile the crypto community still decides whether Bitcoin (BTC) was born, or simply conceived, 12 years ago, the fact is that October 31, 2008, is still one of the most remarkable dates in modern human history. Exactly 12 years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto published what some have described as ‚a new bible‘, the Bitcoin whitepaper. Designed as a new „purely peer-to-peer version of electronic money“, many see the creation of Bitcoin as a response to a global financial crisis.
The Cointelegraph video team spoke to Adam Back, co-founder and CEO of Blockstream, about the birth of Bitcoin. You can watch the video here:
Although Bitcoin has recently become more attractive than Jesus and sex, at least among Reddit users, we should not forget that it’s only Bitcoin’s 12th birthday and that there are still many great achievements and challenges ahead, although for this real-world saga, we can only hope to know how this story will end and who will be victorious.
Cointelegraph contacted Bitcoin Era friends and supporters, asking them to send their birthday wishes to the Great BTC.
Alex Wilson, co-founder of The Giving Block
„For Bitcoin’s birthday, I hope it will bring financial freedom to billions of people around the world.
Muneeb Ali, CEO and co-founder of Blockstack PBC:
„My wish for BTC’s 12th birthday is that it marks the new chapter for BTC where it begins to move from passive capital (reserve value) to deployed asset capital, for example, used as collateral in financial products. I believe that this is the next logical step in Bitcoin’s journey to become a reserve currency.
Michael Terpin, founder of Transform Group and BitAngels
„The 12th anniversary of the Bitcoin White Paper, which took almost two years to reach a point where anyone could even buy a pizza with 10,000 Bitcoins, is an amazing example of Bill Gates‘ mantra that most people overestimate what can be done in a year, but underestimate what can be achieved in a decade. Today, when Bitcoin exceeds a market capitalization of $260 billion, we have greater market validation of the Satoshi paradigm and a global hunger for fair, self-reliant vehicles for wealth creation and management.
Jimmy Song, author of Programming Blockchain
„A robust network, an anti-fraud community and a high price tag“
Alejandro De La Torre, vice-president of Poolin, a Bitcoin mining and crypto pool:
„I wish Bitcoin continued success in its adoption and many more years of a healthy global network, driven by the kind and caring miners“.
Efi Pylarinou, consultant to fintech and Blockchain:
„My hope is that the European Commission, Switzerland or the United States will decide to adopt the Bitcoin blockchain towards a new constitutional right for every citizen who has a decentralised blockchain wallet in their identification. This wallet will also be used by each country when and if they decide to adopt some universal basic income scheme“.
Scott Melker, trader, investor and presenter of the podcast The Wolf Of All Streets
„USD 20,000“
Taylor Pearson, entrepreneur and author of The End of Jobs:
„May the resistance to censorship rise to meet you. May the hash pruning be always at your back. May the paths of BIP-32 shine warmly on your blocks; may commissions fall gently on your safety and until we meet again, may Satoshi hold you in the palm of his hand“.
